Dear praying friends,
A few months ago I posted a prayer request for our weekly Kid’s Bible Club because the kids were really misbehaving, and also we were losing kids to a competing secular program where they do not learn the gospel.
If you want to see that prayer request, you can find it here: http://luke-15.org/2014/02/prayer-requests-for-inner-city-kids-bible-club/
God answered both prayers!!!
First, a number of the kids got kicked out of the other club because they were misbehaving there too. This actually worked well because we offer the kids the saving message of Jesus!
And the kids have for the most part improved their attitudes A LOT!
Thank you for your prayers!!! We could all tell the kids were doing a better job paying attention to the lessons!
It’s a powerful thing to share the gospel of Jesus Christ when love pours through you by God’s Holy Spirit!
The after-school program that invites us in to teach the kids breaks for the summer, so the sad news is that I won’t see this kids until the Autumn. Despite them sometimes being naughty and disrespectful, I really love these kids and pray for them. Would you pray for them too?
The last time we were together I exhorted them to say no to the ways of the world, and say yes to the ways of Jesus! I pleaded with them to follow Christ completely and read His Word every day.
These kids have seen things many of us have not. Shortly before we had our summer break, there was a gruesome murder right in their neighborhood.
The following is from WCVB, Boston:
BOSTON —A 25-year-old Boston man has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the fatal shooting of a one-time friend in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.
Peter Carvalho was ordered held without bail at his arraignment Thursday.
Prosecutors said the 25-year-old victim, Shannon Richardson, was shot several times as he walked on Dudley street Wednesday afternoon, then collapsed in a nearby store. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Prosecutors said witnesses described Richardson’s attacker. Patrol officers later saw Carvalho running and pursued him when they got a radio call about a shooting. He went into the same store where Richardson lay.
The Boston Globe reports that Richardson’s mother wept during the court hearing. Some relatives and friends of both men said afterward they were friends who wouldn’t have been violent toward each other.
For most of these kids, the only exposure to the gospel they get is when we come and teach them. One girl is from a Jehovah’s Witness family, a dangerous cult. So please pray that these kids will stay close to Jesus this summer.
I also want to thank God for our amazing volunteers. We wouldn’t be able to run the club without them. As you can see in the photos below, they were very involved!
Please enjoy the following photos of this amazing club with these wonderful kids.

Thank you for your prayers, notes of encouragement, and financial support. Without all of those, we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!
Please feel free to share this with others you think would be encouraged by it!
all for Jesus,
Mark (and family)
