One of my favorite parts of the ministry is building up the Church to be more effective evangelists!
Every summer we have Churches send Mission Trip Teams to spend a week with us in Boston.
This summer we worked with Church Teams from Maine, New Hampshire, a few from Massachusetts, and even one from next-door Chelsea, Massachusetts!
In addition to street evangelism, we pair up each Church Team with a local City Church to run a 5-Day Bible Club in the neighborhood of the local Church.
At the end of the week, the local Church has LOTS of new people and families to follow-up and continue to minister to them!
Each student learned about and did the following:
- learned practical Evangelism and street Apologetics
- share Christ one-on-one with an adult
- hand out gospel tracts to adults in the city
- help run a Kids Bible Club
- teach a Bible Song to kids
- lead a Bible Verse “hangman puzzle” with kids
- share Christ one-on-one with a kid
- some even learned how to paint up and deliver a Bible message to kids with the paint board!!
Please pray that each one of the students went home to their church more equipped to be effective ambassadors for Jesus Christ!
The photos really tell the story, so I pray you enjoy these…

Every time we have a 5-Day Kid’s Bible Club, we teach a 5-Part Bible series. Open Air Campaigners has developed a number of fantastic 5-Day Series, and I’ve been able to teach most of them.
But for the Kid’s Club we had in South Boston, we taught “The Gospel Through the Patriarchs,” showing the gospel message through the life of Noah, Lot, and Abraham.
I had never taught that series, so I decided to jump in head-first and teach all five lessons. It was a lot of work and preparation, but I’m really thankful for the opportunity to learn how to paint and teach those excellent lessons.
Below are “Before” and “After” photos of each of the five teachings, with descriptions of each one. Feel free to check them out to get a feel for what the kids learn.

Please prayerfully consider having your Church Team join us in Boston for a week! I can guarantee that you won’t be the same again afterward!!!
Thank you for your prayers, notes of encouragement, and financial support. Without all of those, we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!
Remember to share Jesus with the Lost wherever you are, because the Lost are wherever you are.
Please feel free to share this with others you think would be encouraged by it, and who will pray!
all for Jesus,
Mark
Small world! My friend CC emailed me the following after viewing this blog post:
“The picture with the caption ‘After an open-air message, it’s common to have good one-on-one discussions, like Eric is having on the right. And on the left… well, apparently that’s a seven-on-one conversation. You never know what’s gonna happen!!!’
The fellow Eric talked with on the right is Carlos, the same fellow I emailed you about before. He is my building’s security guard. He was Catholic and turned to Muslim. He read the NIV and said that Jesus never said He is God. I have two Uganda friends came and talked to him. I’m sure he will find out the dirty stuff of Islam and become born-again. I emailed him all the verses that talk about the love, compassion, forgiveness of God and forgiving others, etc…”
