Open Air Campaigners does not pay us. We depend 100% on the generosity of people like you who believe in the work we do to bring the gospel to the lost. The first year we were Missionaries, our support percentage was 30%. The second year it was 50%. We made up the difference by liquidating our retirement savings. But our retirement savings ran out a few years ago.
I'll come right out with it: we're struggling financially. On a good month we're now at 72%. That means that nearly a third of our bills are not being paid every month. We have been in prolonged financial strain.
We have sought out financial counselling from a number of people who have all concluded that our budget is not extravagant, that we have made significant cuts in spending, and that the solution is for our donation level to be higher.
As a result, we have been placed on "Deputation" full-time to raise more financial support.
Being on "Deputation" means that instead of being on the field, sharing Jesus with unbelievers, I'll be spending my time developing new supporters and new supporting churches.
While I understand that just about all Missionaries have to do this from time to time, it makes me personally sad because I'd much rather be out among the people talking about Jesus.
The Missionary work we do in Boston is important. People are hearing and responding to the gospel. Christians are being edified and built up to be better evangelists. Kids in the inner city are learning about Jesus. Lives are being changed for the better! But we need your help to continue.
Might I please ask you to consider giving even a small monthly gift? Even $10 would make a HUGE difference and help bring the gospel to the unreached. Any amount is truly significant.
If you currently give to our Missionary work, thank you! Would you please prayerfully consider increasing your giving by $10 (or more)?
Please pray for us as we make tough decisions about our budget. We are even considering selling our home if it will save some money every month. (It's hard for us to know if that will save money because of the market.)
I'm also thankful that God has provided some side-jobs for me to do working on computers. This has been a great help, but it keeps me off the Mission field and makes it hard for my team to plan outreaches.
Please prayerfully consider joining with what God is doing by donating. Instructions can be found here: http://luke-15.org/we-need-your-help/.
Please please please share this email with friends you know who care about evangelism. Please share it with your Pastor or Missions Committee. Would you ask them to watch a 5-minute video that shows what my family does to reach the lost? It's at: http://movie.luke-15.org/. I'd really appreciate the chance to talk with them about the work we do.
If you're local, I'd love the chance to come share the ministry with your Church or Bible Study. Thank you so much and God bless you!
all for Jesus,
Mark, Shelby, Vivienne, Juliana, Caleb, and Gabriella
