I’ve found that what most Cults have in common is that they’re wrong about who Jesus is.
Let’s face it, the concept of One God existing in Three Persons is tough to wrap our minds around. No wonder satan has a field day creating false religions that deny the Trinity.
We believe in the Trinity, not because it makes sense to us, but because it is taught in Scripture. We always have to rely on Scripture.
Here’s a Biblical question that you can ask a Jehovah’s Witness, or anyone who denies the Trinity.
Who Laid the Foundation of the Earth?
Ask the person you’re speaking with to read Psalm 102:25-27. It’s best if you ask them to read it from their own Bible, out loud, in front of you.
In the Jehovah’s Witness New World Translation, Psalm 102:25-27 says the following:
25 Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth, And the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you will remain; Just like a garment they will all wear out. Just like clothing you will replace them, and they will pass away. 27 But you are the same, and your years will never end.
Ask them, “According to this Scripture, who laid the foundations of the earth?” If they are honest, they have to say Jehovah laid the foundations of the earth.
Then ask them to turn in their Bible to Hebrews, chapter 1. Have them read verses 8-12, from their own Bible, out loud, in front of you.
In the Jehovah’s Witness New World Translation, Hebrews 1:8-12 says the following:
8 But about the Son, he says: “God is your throne forever and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of uprightness. 9 You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions.” 10 And: “At the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands. 11 They will perish, but you will remain; and just like a garment, they will all wear out, 12 and you will wrap them up just as a cloak, as a garment, and they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never come to an end.”
You can even have them look at the footnote for Hebrews 1:11 in their own Bible, and it will reference Psalm 102:25-27.
Ask them, “According to this Scripture, who laid the foundations of the earth?” If they are honest, they have to say Jesus laid the foundations of the earth.
Jesus is Jehovah God. What is attributed to God is also attributed to Jesus.
I pray that this was helpful to you, and will help you in your ministry to those who deny the Son of God. This is merely the very beginning. There are so many more Scriptures that show the same thing.
I have a much more in-depth essay showing from the Scriptures that the teaching of “The Trinity” is true. It is available to anyone as a free download and I invite you to check it out. You can click on the graphic below, or you can get the essay at: http://Luke-15.org/JCGB.pdf.
