Dear praying friends,
I’ve got GREAT news, God is still in the business of saving the Lost, and I’m so so glad!!!
I love love love LOVE Evening Beach Evangelism!
Please warm yourself up with this update on the outstanding things God did!
Lots and lots of people from around the world and all different ages gathered around and listened to the gospel message, many staying around afterward for one-on-one discussions! We gave out thousands of gospel booklets, Gospel of John books, and evangelistic DVDs! ! Very exciting!!!
Also, Beach Evangelism is a great place to train and build up the Church! We had Christians from a number of different local churches come out this summer to participate and hone their evangelism skills! (And find out that it’s not so terrifying after all.)
And this really is a TEAM ministry. I want to express my gratitude to my ministry partners and friends, Chris McKinley and Chip Davis, who lead the ministry while I was away a number of times when preaching at Summer Camps. I thank God for these guys!!!
Please consider coming out and joining us on the beach next summer! I post updates and info at: https://beach.luke-15.org. And please email me to tell me you’re interested and I’ll add you to an email group of people who consider coming to the beach.
I’ll let the photos tell the story of how Jesus worked…

These Highschoolers we're so sweet. I took them through "The Good Person Test" to illustrate that we're all too sinful to stand before God on The Day of Judgment. I got to share Jesus and the cross and grace. They had so many questions. Simple questions. Not "simple" because they weren't smart. They were intelligent. "Simple questions" because they had never heard of this before. They were blank slates. Each of them received a Gospel of John and a lot to think about.

These teens approached us to ask for prayer, and circled around to hold hands and pray - right in public - and here's why... The week before Chip and Ernie spoke with the exact same Teens, and they seemed mildly interested. They listened and left. But since then they all were in a car accident and they said they could have died. (I'm so glad they're all okay.) But it shook them up and got them thinking about important eternal things. So they came right up to us asking for prayer. Ernie and Chip again explained the Great News of salvation through repentance from sin and faith in Jesus. Maybe this time their ears were more ready to hear it? Each and every Teen got prayed for and each and every Teen received a Gospel of John. Hallelujah!

This is Sam, and when I shared with her evidence for God, she's literally said, "Nobody has ever explained it like that to me. That makes perfect sense." I took her through some if God's Commandments and she admitted to breaking all of them I was stunned when she said thoughtfully, "All of us are sinful. No one is good." How right she is. What a JOY to talk with someone who has so much spiritual insight! I believe The Holy Spirit is working in Sam.

Pippin the Evange-puppy is making friends with a family who will hear the Gospel. Behind me Chip is leading a family through the Gospel using our board as a jumping point The Lord is good!!!

Highschoolers are some of the best people to talk to. So many of them really do listen and ask excellent questions. Thoughtful questions. You can tell they're thinking about eternal things. Hallelujah!

This is Dennis. When I asked him where he thinks he'll spend eternity, he got very intense, got very close to me, and said, "I'm mad at God." I asked him why and he told me his sister is dying of bone Cancer. What do you say when someone says that? I told him how sorry I was and that Cancer is horrible. I told him that death is a curse and not part of God's initial creation. I told him that Jesus came to defeat death. He thanked me and hugged me but said he's still mad at God. He did take a Gospel booklet though. Please pray for this sensitive and hurting man (and his wife who was listening in the whole time.) Please also pray for his sister, that all of them will receive Jesus by faith with joy!

This is Scott (right). Proctor (left) explained the Gospel to Scott. Scott's response was priceless. He said, "It can't be that easy!" Oh yes it can because, any other solution would be impossible. If salvation were by our merit, none of us would make it. Hallelujah for grace. And for conversations like this one with Scott. Scott left with a lot to think about and more information to read.

This is Steve and Patty, and tragically they're trapped in the Jehovah's Witnesses cult. I realize that Cult is a strong word, but Steve and Patty gave evidence of that. When I showed them clear Scriptures showing their organization is wrong about Jesus, they would not consider it. I asked them who raised Jesus from the dead. They were confident. "Jehovah raised Jesus from the dead." I asked them if they're 100% sure. They said yes. I agreed that Jehovah did raise Jesus, but that's not the complete story. I had them read John 2:19. "Jesus replied to them: 'Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.'" "Who will raise it up?" I asked them. Steve was confident. He said, "that's not talking about the resurrection." So I asked him to read just 2 verses down. "But he was talking about the temple of his body. When, though, he was raised up from the dead, his disciples recalled that he used to say this, and they believed the scripture and what Jesus had spoken" (John 2:21-22). Steve confidently said this isn't about the resurrection and then was showed from the text that it is. Rather than change his view to align with Scripture, he chose to align with the Jehovah's Witness organization. That's why it's a Cult. When I pointed out that their organization has claimed to be a prophet, but has made numerous false prophecies, they denied it. So I literally showed them photos of their own Watchtower magazine that stated they are a prophet, right there in black and white, but they would not look at it. Their loyalty to the organization above clear evidence is scary. But Jesus is greater. Please pray that the truth shared with them will be used by the Holy Spirit to reach and rescue Steve and Patty. For Biblical reasons why Jesus is God, please see http://luke-15.org/trinity.pdf For a history of Watchtower false prophecies, please see http://luke-15.org/wt_prophecy.pdf

This is Aleah and Jake, two High schoolers who had no idea what God did to allow sinful people into Heaven. They respectfully listened to the bad news that we've all sinned, and respectfully listened to the Great News of the Cross, Resurrection, and Gospel exhortation to repent and believe to become Born Again!

This is Caiden and Jordan. Jordan watches sermons on tv by a false teacher, and Caiden doesn't believe anything about God. Chris cautioned Jordan and encouraged both of them to be in God's Word. They both took copies of The Gospel of John.

We loooove eavesdroppers! Like Liam (right). Liam wasnt interested in talking to either Chris or myself about the Gospel. But he gravitated to Chris talking with Justin and Maddy and started eavesdropping. Justin has a Christian background, but sadly he's not following the Lord. Maddy has no Christian upbringing or beliefs at all. But all three listened to Chris share the Greatest message ever - that Eternal Life and adoption into God's Family cubes through repentance of sin and faith in Christ. Please pray for these three. Thank you!

This is Iola, a sweet Teenager who was very interested in going through "The Good Person Test." She appeared to understand that we're all sinners and none of us are good enough to earn our way to Heaven. Here the thing, it turns out that she attends Bible Programs for kids at a nearby Church, and she knew intellectually that Jesus died for her, but sadly she didn't know that she had to personally receive Jesus. And she didn't know how. What a pleasure to be able to share with this kind girl how to receive Jesus through repentance and faith! What a joy that she wanted to understand what that meant from the Bible. Hallelujah!

This sweet little girl just LOOOOOVED my Evange-puppy! And he loved her too. Such a fun friendly way to get into a conversation. Her Mom was very kind and took a Gospel Booklet.

Mike is like the most loving gey ever, and his sincerity is so obvious. These young guys interacted with him and really took in what he had to say.

Please pray for McKenzie. The great news: she got saved a few months ago! The bad news: her family isn't happy and is persecuting her big-time. Chris had a great chat with her and they both encouraged one another. Please keep this new sister in prayer. Thank you.

Do young people actually listen to us "old guys?" You betcha! These 5 young men are laser-focused on the truths about Eternity, sin, salvation, and Jesus that Richard is sharing with them. Our new volunteer, Ernie, is listening in too.

This is Anika, Breanna, Sasha, and I didn't get the name of the young man. Our conversation was very friendly and typical, but then something not typical happened. I often pull out a fake million dollar bill and ask, "If I offered you a real million, would you want it?" Everyone says yes. Then I say, "If I did offer you a million and held it in my hand, and you got excited and ran off, could you start spending it?" The answer is "no" because you didn't "receive it." It's still in my hand. I say, "Imagine how tragic it would be for someone to be offered a million, and think they have it, when they never received it." Then I say, "but what's worse is when Jesus offers us forgiveness because he paid for it, and we say, 'cool,' and walk of without ever actually receiving it." I've done this a thousand times. It's a powerful object lesson that we must actually receive Christ through faith and repentance, and not merely mentally acknowledge him. Then I invite the person to actually take the million from my hand. They always do. But this time these young people didn't want it. They said, "no thank you." That has never happened to me. So I said, "You know, this is sadly what most people do with Jesus' offer of salvation. They refuse. I beg you not to. You can miss out on a million dollars and be fine. But if you miss Jesus you've lost everything for eternity." I warned them about the tragedy of gaining the world but losing their souls. Please pray for these kind young people. Thank you!

Two High-Schoolers sharing Jesus with a stranger at the beach (I am so proud of them)! Chloe and George had a great conversation with Connor. Connor is an intelligent young man with his own ideas of morality. Chloe and George brought him through some of the Ten Commandments to show Connor what God's idea of morality is, and that we've all failed it. The young duo for Jesus shared the great news of Jesus dying for sinners, and rising from the dead. We must repent and believe. Connor took a Gospel of John from them and said he'd read it and consider it. Hey, if these young kids can share Jesus with a stranger, so can you! God can use anybody who loves Jesus and loves people. I'd like to help if you want to be a ready Ambassador for the King!

This is Andre and Ava, 2 sweet young ladies Proctor spoke with. Proctor said to them, "If you're going to go on vacation, you get ready. You plan. You should get ready for Eternity too." Andre and Ava were very receptive. Proctor explained that we've all sinned against God and that Eternal Death in The Lake of Fire is the "wage" of our sin. Wage is "the result of," "the cost of." It's what we owe. Proctor reasoned with them that Jesus is the only Savior because he's the only one who can pay our debt. Proctor warned them with urgency to get right with God through Christ right away. Both Andre and Ava each received a Gospel of John book. Please pray for these two young ladies.

This is Ryan and Jace. Ryan didn't seem at all open, but when Chris took him through the commandments everything changed and he became very engaged. Chris shared the Great News with them, and even shared his own salvation testimony. By the end of the conversation, they were both glad to receive a copy of The Gospel of John and Jace said "Thanks! I'll check it out."

This is cool. Richard is using rope trick to share the Great News with this young man. And the young woman is video recording it! So not only did those two hear, but others who watch the video. So cool!

This is James. He came over to pet my puppy, but he stayed because Chris gave him a booklet entitled, "Where Will You Spend Eternity?" and asked him if he ever thought about that. James told us that he has an Uncle who goes out and witnesses, so he's familiar with the message. Chris asked him straight up, "Then what's keeping you from coming to Jesus?" James' answer was profound. He said, "What would an all powerful God care about us?" And Chris got to share with him about grace - amazing grace. Please pray for James. He has an Uncle who has been planting Gospel seeds in him. Please pray that The Holy Spirit waters those seeds and brings a harvest of faith in James.

This is Delilah and Seth. Delilah was raised a Muslim but considers herself an Atheist. Seth is a Nihilist (he believes there's no meaning to life). Chris and Wes reasoned with them. They shared the Great News of the cross, and Chris shared his testimony of being delivered from Witchcraft. Chris said, "We come to Jesus, and he transforms us." But that's when Delilah opened up. She said, "that's the most beautiful way I've ever heard this." Maybe God is opening her heart? Chris pointed out that the Koran doesn't describe God as loving, and Delilah agreed. Perhaps the Lord is drawing Delilah to the God who is love.

Wes always did a great job bringing people through our "pre-evangelistic" riddles, and then explaining the Gospel.

This is Brandon and he desperately needs our prayers. He's in a dangerous Cult. He approached Jim and only wanted to argue about the Sabbath. This unbalanced obsession with a secondary doctrine was a "red flag." Brandon told me he was an Atheist 4 months ago, yet he was ready with a rapid-fire misuse of Scriptures to "prove" that we must keep the Sabbath. I said, "Brandon, if you read the New Testament and list the things important to God, the Sabbath might not even make the top 100, but you make it the most important thing to you. Who taught you this? What Church do you go to?" He refused to tell me, another big "red flag." I tried to reason with him, "Why won't you tell me which Church you go to? I go to Calvary Bible Church in Derry. Where do you go?" He refused to tell me. He just wanted to argue the Sabbath. I asked him to tell me how he understands Hebrews, chapter 4, where it is taught that the Saturday Sabbath wasn't good enough, so God gave us true rest in Jesus. Jesus is our Sabbath rest. Brandon just repeated what his Church taught him to say. I am almost never harsh with people on the street. I'm the kind, warm-fuzzy Evangelist. But I felt that Brandon needed to be spoken to directly. I said, "Dude, you're in a cult. I beg you to run from them. There's a reason you're majoring on a minor doctrine. There's a reason you won't tell me who is teaching you. Dude, run." Brandon's wife showed up and she wanted to leave so they left. I said, "You gotta tell me your Church." He said quietly, "The World Missionary Society Church of God." I found their website and YIKES! They teach: * Their founder is the second coming of Jesus. * Their founder's mistress is God the Mother. * Women must wear veils. * You must follow the Sabbath and Feasts to be saved. * You must be baptized to be saved. * and more. Please pray for deliverance for Brandon. Jesus can win him over. To learn more about the WMSCOG, see: https://youtu.be/MUeNiX-WLoo

This is Russell. I asked him what he thinks about eternity and he was blunt. He said there's no God, no Creator, no sin, and no need for the Savior. What audacious claims. Russell said, and I quote, "I'm 67 and I have everything figured out." He actually said that. I asked him, "Are you open minded?" and Russell said, "No, I'm certain I have everything figured out. It's common sense." It became clear that Russell enjoyed arguing. I enjoy the sharing of ideas, but that's different than just wanting to spar verbally for the fun of showing how smart you think you are. That was Russell. Buuuut, he's not beyond hope. When I was 20 I was a know-it-all self-righteous arrogant kid who hated Jesus. Yet Jesus reached my heart and rescued me. If Jesus could save me, he can save anybody. Anybody! I believe that. I believe Russell can be won by the love and grace of our tremendous Christ. Let's be praying for him to that end. Thank you so so much!

This is Jose and Jeremiah, and they were a terrific "Divine Appointment." ❤️ It's very powerful to open The Word of God with someone because God is powerful. Richard opened to John 3:3 and had them read it. "Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God'" (John 3:3). Richard asked Jose and Jeremiah what they thought it meant, and that lead to a great conversation. They each took a copy of The Gospel of John and said they'd read it.

Young Colin here is a spit-fire who obviously has the hand of God on his life at a young age. He fearlessly approached just about everyone, listened to them talk about their views about God, and asked great probing questions to the adults. It was something to see! I can't wait to see how Jesus uses this kid!!!

This is Isaac and he's 14 and this was his first time joining us at the Beach. Isaac used our riddles to transition to the Gospel Message with these 4 young men - it was awesome! The one second from the left is Evan and he knew NOTHING about Jesus. Evan was so open and sweet. When the guys learned that we can't earn our way to Heaven because we're not good enough, Evan genuinely asked, "How can God let us into Heaven then?" So cool! They each learned about grace and repentance and faith, and each walked away with a Gospel Booklet, a Gospel of John, and a lot to think about. Please be praying for the seeds planted at the Beach.

This is outstanding. In the middle is Eliot, and he's in town from the Dominican Republic, and came to help evangelize. (He wins the "furthest commute" prize.) Within the young men listening to him and asking questions is a Jewish guy from Colombia, and one from Ethiopia. Also a family is eavesdropping in on the conversation. All in a typical night at the beach. Thank You Jesus!

This man was very thoughtful and kind. He took a booklet from me entitled, "Where Will You Spend Eternity?" and we had a productive talk about that.

This is Darrel and he came right up to me to talk as soon as I got to the beach (while I was setting up.) Darrel considers himself "spiritual" and believes in a higher energy. I listened to him for a while and then he was kind enough to listen to me share about the One and True Living God, and that God commands all men everywhere to repent. It was a very friendly conversation. In this photo Patrice and Terry were reasoning with him too. Darrel gladly received the Gospel of John that Patrice shared with him, and I think I ingested a whole bunch of smoke from his marijuana joint (I didn't feel any effects - I didn't inhale.) He literally is communicating with demons and is taking hard drugs to "find truth." I warned him that Psychedelic drugs make you see lies, but Jesus is The Truth. Please pray for this friendly man. I liked him a lot.

This is Doug and Tommy. They breezed through the riddles on the paint board, but sadly didn't know about the Gospel. They attend Catholic Church every week, but didn't know how to be forgiven. I explained how to receive Jesus, exhorted them to attend a Church that teaches The Gospel, and they each took booklets.

This is AJ and he's such a great guy. I could've talked with him for hours. First, he's a Marine. Since my dad was a Marine, I esteem Marines very highly. And he's very polite. A lot of "yes, sir." It's like he comes from a different time. Get this, a couple nights earlier, John and Patrice and Terry (terrific Evangelists) spent time with AJ explaining the Gospel. God appears to be after this guy. AJ was very open, but isn't quite there yet. He asked great questions and was thankful for the answers. He received a copy of The Gospel of John. Please pray for this nice young man. Thank you!

Yes, strangers really do stop and talk about God, truth, eternity, sin, and Jesus. This family got Gospel booklets and a lot to think about. There's nothing better than being used by the King of kings.

After years of experience I've learned this... Stranger Evangelism is easier and better with a cute Evange-doodle! This gentleman follows Native American Spiritualism. We had a productive talk and he took a Gospel booklet. Please pray for the seeds planted at the beach.

This is Keemani, a very thoughtful young man who let me take him through God's Commandments. Afterward, when I asked him if he thought he deserves Heaven, he easily admitted that he's not good enough. I had the joy of sharing Jesus, and grace, and the great news with Keemani. I exhorted him to follow Jesus and read His Word every day. Keemani was thankful and fist-pumped me. He also took a Gospel booklet.
We hope this post has encouraged you.
