Dear praying friends,
I love love love love sharing Jesus at Universities. It’s a tremendous mission field, where God sends our way students from all walks of life, and from all over the world!
We had a fruitful Fall and Spring, focusing on The University of New Hampshire and a few trips out to the University of Massachusetts.
In addition to reaching unsaved Students, University ministry is also a blessing because we run into Christian students, some of whom have never seen effective Open Air Ministry. I hope and pray that God uses us to embolden Christian students to share the gospel with strangers.
Please pray for us and those we meet!
As you can see in the photos below, God uses University Ministry to reach a lot of people who might not otherwise hear the truth about Jesus.
I’m sad that it’s over for the summer. But I look forward, Lord willing, to ministering at the Universities again in the Fall!!!
In the photos and descriptions below, I make reference to “The Good Person Test.” This is a tool that I’ve found to be very very effective in getting students to think about eternal things.
Please feel free to click on the graphic below to download a copy of “The Good Person Test.” Please print it out and use it in your own personal evangelism. And if you want it as a Microsoft Word document, so you can edit it and add your own contact information, just let me know and I’ll get it to you.
You can always find the latest version of “The Good Person Test” at: https://luke-15.org/good-person-test.pdf.
I’ll let the following photos explain what has happened on campus recently.

This is Natalia, a fascinating and intelligent Jewish young lady who identifies as LGBTQ+. She told me she is interested in pagan gods from the Ukraine (where she's from). She initially wanted to debate about what she called "Queer issues." She also wanted to debate about a mish-mosh of topics like the Texas abortion law, Systemic racism against People of Color by our "white supremacist institutions," and gender theory. How does one get past those rabbit-trails to what really matters? I said, "So you're Jewish and today is Yom Kippur. Please tell me how you get your sins forgiven." And from there I was able to take Natalia through some of the Commandments (and she agreed she has broken all of them.) From there I got to share the Great News that Jesus died and rose again to pay for our sin and what we need more than progressive laws is to be forgiven by our Maker. She listened to me share my story. I told her I was a Jewish college student who read the Bible to gain ammunition to debate Christians, but to my shock I met Jesus, the Jewish Messiah. She took a copy of my testimony, entitled, "A Jew and His God." (Feel free to check that out at: https://mystory.great-news.org). Please pray for Natalia. Her head is full of a lot of confusion about all kinds of things, but she's no more lost than I was when Jesus rescued me. He can rescue her too. How glorious!

This is an example of the garbage being pushed on these kids ALL THE TIME. Such lies. Such damage that happens from them. But Jesus has the victory!

Sometimes you just want to hug a student. (But in today's climate you can't do that.) But if I could, I would have given a hug to Fritzlyn here. She really got to me emotionally. You see, most everybody says they are good enough to go to Heaven, and we have to explain why that's not true. But Fritzlyn said she's NOT good enough to go to heaven. She added, "I'm not where I should be." I shared the love of Christ on the cross and that Jesus is calling her to him. Fritzlyn was very close to tears and gladly took a Bible. Such a tender-hearted young woman. Please pray for her.

This is Officer "K." He's come out to talk to us a number of times, and he's always very friendly. Officer "K" let us know that he knows we're not doing anything wrong. He explained that it's Police policy that if a Student or Faculty call the Police because we're on campus, they must come out to make sure we have a permit (which we do.) Typically when Police are called, they present with a detached and overly professional demeanor. But Officer "K" is different. He talks with us in a very friendly and casual manner. He even has taken a Gospel of John booklet from us! (Which is nearly unheard of - most Officers won't take anything from people on the streets.) Now I'm hoping Students will call the Police on us more, so that we can continue to share Jesus with Officer "K." Please pray for this kind Officer. Thank you!

You take a risk when you approach a crowd. Typically either ALL OF THEM will be receptive to you, or NONE OF THEM. (Human nature is to follow those around us.) When I saw this crowd of young ladies, I couldn't resist risking it. I walked right in the middle and said, "Hey, we're having a special today just for girls hanging around in circles. You each get one of these." And every single one of them smiled and took one of my Gospel booklets. Yay! Risk worked. I told them if I were their Dad, I'd want them to read and consider what it had to say. I told them they're each worth it. University Ministry gives us lots of neat opportunities like this. Hallelujah!

How do you share Christ with members of the LGBTQ+ Community? The same way as everyone else: with love, compassion, and urgency. This is Micah (on the bike) and her friends. Micah listened to me present an open-air Gospel message and approached me with a bunch of questions. I got to share the Gospel clearly and my testimony of how God saved me. After we had been talking for a while, she told me, "I'm a Lesbian and I came over to yell at you. But when we talked and I realized how much you care, I couldn't do it." I think that's one of the greatest compliments I've ever received and I give all glory to God. It's only The Holy Spirit in me that can make me gentle and kind to win over someone who wanted to be mad at me. Thank You Jesus! After we had been talking for a bit, her friends joined us. They all listened, asked questions, and thanked me. And they all took Gospel booklets. Hallelujah!

This is Anna, a Muslim student from Singapore. Despite her Muslim heritage, she had a secular worldview. Chris was able to take her through "The Good Person Test" to illustrate to Anna that we all need forgiveness. Anna received a Gospel of John from Chris and said she'd look into it!

This is Bobby (right-hand side) and he was such a fun "Divine Appointment." Bobby was so so so open to the Gospel Message. He really paid attention and asked thoughtful questions. In the center is Grant, a Christian student we met literally moments before. Grant appeared to be a young man on fire for Jesus and zealous for souls. Grant asked me if our evangelism is "effective" and then Bobby came over and Grant got to see an incredible encounter in action. God's timing is the best! ❤️ So not only was the Great News shared with a Lost student, but a Christian student got encouraged and built-up in evangelism - everybody wins! Please pray for Bobby. He gladly received a Gospel of John. And please praise God with me for Grant.

This was Pippin's first day "on assignment" as an Evange-Doodle. These students surrounded me to meet the puppy before I could even setup my sign! And that's how it went the whole afternoon. Lots and lots of Gospel Booklets handed out, and Bibles, and conversations. Good dog!!!

The two young ladies approached John and they wanted a fight. They identified themselves as Lesbians and made many accusations against John and against Christianity. I was eavesdropping, and I gotta say that John did a super job staying calm, speaking with a soft, kind voice, and being nothing but respectful. Anyone would have seen that these two ladies were the aggressive ones in this conversation. It's ironic that the world accuses Christians of being rude and intolerant, but often the opposite is true. We didn't get the names of these ladies, but please pray for them nonetheless. God knows their names. And God is more than able to reach anybody. I do want the best for them, and the best would be to be at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ!

This is Katie and Robin, two students who had a whimsical attitude at first. They believe in "cosmic energy" and reincarnation. Get this, when Chris took them through the Gospel message, their demeanour changed - they became more serious. They both left with a copy of The Gospel of John and a lot to think about. Hallelujah!

Evangelism isn't just to reach the Lost. Jesus also uses evangelism to encourage the Found! Like this young man who loves Jesus and was so excited to see us out there. He gave Chris a high-five! And we were encouraged by him too!

Friends, please pray fervently for this young lady and her parents. She told John that she is homosexual, and that she's considering transitioning to be a male. She told John that her parents had a horrible marriage, and nearly divorced, but then they met Jesus and now "Jesus is everything" to them. She said her parents have expressed their love for her, but disapproval with her being a Lesbian and with her transitioning to be a male. Can you even imagine? This young woman was very sweet, but so confused and pummeled with anti-science gender propaganda from her school and peers. (See Abigail Shrier's EXCELLENT book, "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters" to see how girls like this one are being tricked into believing they're the wrong gender. ) John did a great job both listening to her, and also lovingly and calmly and compassionately sharing the truth of the Word of God with her. After she left, John and I prayed for her and cried for her. Such a sad tragic situation. Please pray for her and her parents. Thanks so much.

This is Luke. He's a Christian and got saved a year ago. He was so so so so excited we were out there. In fact, he came back s second time after his class to thank us again. He said the campus is a dark place. Indeed it is.

A fruitful Mission Field. When classes let out we get a "sea of students" walking right where we are. Praise God!

There's great advantage to going back to the same locations over and over. Like with Devin here. Last week Devin approached Jim and told him, "I don't like people giving these things out." (Devin was talking about Gospel Booklets.) Jim asked him good questions and discovered that Devin doesn't want to be told that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. They spoke for 30 minutes and Devin took a Gospel of John. Well here we are this week and, what do you know, Devin shows up again. And again Jim got to have a fruitful long conversation. Please be praying that Devin comes to faith in Christ!

This young lady rushed right up to John wanting to debate. She said she had seen us on campus before. She asked him about other religions. John explained why Jesus has to be the only way, and explained why we all need to call out to Christ. Tragically she said, "I live a lifestyle I love and if God can't accept that, then I want to go to Hell" John said we all have sin to turn from. She thanked him and walked away. Please pray that this young lady will turn away from her sin and turn to Jesus!

This is Nathanael, and when I asked him if he ever thinks about where he will spend eternity, he said, and I quote, "I think about this a lot and I'm really scared that I might go to Hell." It is so rare for a student to be so aware of his sinfulness that I initially thought Nathanael was messing with me. But he wasn't. He's just really tender-hearted and the Holy Spirit appears to be working on him. Nathanael told me, "I don't know how good you need to be to get to Heaven." What a privilege for me to be able to share with him about the love of Jesus, the cross, the resurrection, Jesus' command to repent and believe, and salvation by grace. He didn't know any of this as he grew up in an agnostic home. Nathanael received a Gospel of John from me and thanked me. I wish I had gotten his number, but he had to run to class, and I blew that. I saw him again the next day on campus - he waved as I was talking with another student. Please pray I'll see him again when I can follow up and get him number to have a sit down with him. Please pray for his salvation. Thank you!

This is Adam, a Muslim student Eric and I spoke with for a while. Here Eric is opening God's Word with Adam and asking questions. Typically Muslim students are culturally Muslim only, but not Adam. He fully follows the Koran. He wouldn't touch my puppy because he said dogs make us "unclean." I asked him, "In the Old Testament God clearly says many times that sin requires the shedding of blood, and prophesizes Jesus shedding his blood. And in the New Testament there is agreement. God clearly says sin requires the shedding of blood, and Jesus sheds his blood. But then in the Koran God says all of a sudden, "no need for blood sacrifice." Why is that?" Adam didn't have an answer other than to say, "no blood sacrifice is necessary." I don't doubt Adam's sincerity, but sincerity without truth is sadly worthless. Please pray for salvation for this intelligent young man.

This is Joey, a thoughtful student who seemed very close to salvation. After Chris explained the Gospel to Joey, he asked him, "What do you need to do to be saved?" Joey said, correctly, "Repent and believe." So Chris asked, "When are you gonna do that?" Joey said, "Soon, maybe after I read this (referring to the Gospel of John Chris gave him). Joey let Chris pray for him on the spot. Please also pray for this young man's salvation.

This is Ian, a thoughtful young man who went to Catholic School for one year, but didn't know the Biblical Gospel. He stopped to read our sign that says, "Will You Go To Heaven?" I approached him and asked, "You ever think about that?" He said "no." I asked him if I could ask him a few questions, and he said "sure." ⭐ I was able to take him through "The Good Person Test" to illustrate to him that we've all sinned and none of us are good enough. And I got to explain what Jesus did to save us! His friend, Will, was listening in too, so it was a double-evangelism! They each took a copy of "The Gospel of John." Please pray for these nice young men.

This young lady and I had a nice little chat about puppies, caffeinated drinks, and then Jesus. (Sometimes it takes a little time to get to the important stuff.) She got love from Pippin the Evange-Doodle, and love from me with a Gospel Booklet. Praise God!

This is how we setup on campus. Many students stop to check out the large banner with the riddles. And the smaller A-Frame signs are helpful too. All of them have "QR" codes on them, so if a student scans it with their phone, it will take them to our evangelistic website, https://great-news.org. It's not at all uncommon for us to see students scanning the QR code.

This is Chris and Alex. When Chip offered them a Gospel Booklet, they asked, "What is this?" Chip said, "It's a booklet about Jesus Christ." One of the guys said, and I kid you not, "Who is that?" So Chip got to explain who Jesus is and why it matters. These guys listened and took booklets. Please pray for Chris and Alex.
![This is Colby, a very sweet and kind and intelligent Roman Catholic student. This is my second time talking with her. Nearly every time I speak with Catholic students, they admit to being Catholic "in name only," and not knowing much about what Catholicism teaches. But not Colby. She was adamantly defending that the Eucharist is literally Jesus' body. She was insistent that the Mass is vital. I asked Colby to help me understand something. I asked if Jesus' body is actually present in the Eucharist. She said yes. I asked her if Jesus is sacrificed again at every Mass. She said yes. So I asked her how she reconciles that with the Scriptures that say that Jesus died one time. Colby didn't know that was in the Bible. I asked her to read Hebrews 7:27: "Unlike those other high priests, [Jesus] does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins." Colby told me she never knew about that verse. So sad that Colby knows so much about Catholicism but doesn't know simple Bible facts. I asked Colby if I could email her 2 documents I wrote that show from the Bible the error of Catholicism and she agreed. So I emailed these to her: 1) http://luke-15.org/RCC_Overview.pdf And 2) http://luke-15.org/Gospel_of_Rome.pdf Please pray that Colby will stop trusting in the traditions of men, but instead trust in The Word of God. his young woman is Jewish, and I got to share with her my story, how, as a Jewish college student, I studied the New Testament to try to disprove it. But in studying it, I met the Jewish Messiah. There's nothing more Jewish than believing in the Jewish Messiah! She listened, and she received a written copy of my testimony, a booklet called, "A Jew and His God." If you want to see the booklet for yourself, you can find it at: https://mystory.great-news.org. And if you want a physical paper copy, private message me your contact info and I'll mail you a few free of charge.

Pippin not only draws people in, but he gets them to relax and be friendlier, which is very helpful for having a productive discussion, rather than mere quarrelling.

Having a Team is essential. I don't know what I'd do without godly helpers like these guys. In this photo John and Eric are both in productive Evangelistic conversations. The Gospel is the "power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16). Want to come out and join us? Please contact me.

This is Adrian, Chandler, and Brian. All three young men were very open, and allowed me to bring them through "The Good Person Test." The Good Person Test illustrates from the Scriptures that we all fail God's perfect standard. All of us. I got to share God's solution - repenting of our sin and turning to Jesus.

There is real value in ministering at the same location over and over again. Often we talk with the same students more than once, like William here. I spoke with him for the first time about a month ago. Then the other day he stopped to talk some more. I got to run through the Gospel message again with him. He listened very well. And get this, he said to me, "I appreciate what you're doing." Glory to God! Please pray for the Gospel seeds planted on campus.

This is Griffin, a very thoughtful student who wanted evidence for the historicity of Christianity. So I was happy to give that to him. We talked about the Resurrection of Jesus. (And you can see he's holding a pamphlet about it in his hand). I'm so thankful to God that he left behind TONS of great evidence for the Resurrection. Faith does not mean believing something without evidence. I think Griffin has a lot to think about, and I'd appreciate your prayers for him that God draws him to faith in Christ. By the way, that very day before getting to Campus I was listening to a SUPERB video presentation on evidence for the Resurrection. (Isn't it great how God works?) I highly recommend this video, and I posted it at: https://risen.Great-News.org. There is evidence that Jesus actually supernaturally rose from the dead, and that's Great News!

This is Sam, a thoughtful young man who had sooooo many questions about God and the Bible. It was really fun talking with him. We spoke for a while with a balance of answering his objections and emphasizing his need for forgiveness for his sins. He gave me his phone number and we met up for coffee and discussing the Bible a few times. And he stoped to say "hi" many times when he saw us on campus! Please pray for Sam's salvation. He's asking good questions. Now he needs to repent and believe.

This is Shannon and Karteek, two sweet Students who came right up to me asking to take the "Will You Go To Heaven Test." After going through a couple of God's commandments, and them admitting they had broken the commandments many times, Shannon asked, "Do you have any good news?" I told her it's my JOY to share the GREAT NEWS of what God did so that those who have broken His Law can be forgiven. Neither Shannon, nor Karteek had any idea at all about what God did. They knew nothing about Jesus' sinless life, His willing sacrifice on the Cross, His resurrection, none of it. And when I shared about receiving the gift of Eternal Life through repentance and faith, they thanked me for explaining it. So please pray for these two, that they will not be satisfied with mere "head knowledge" about God, but will experience Jesus through true faith.

This is Christian, a kind student who came over because he was curious about our "Will You Go To Heaven?" sign. When I asked him if he thinks he's good enough to go to Heaven, he confidently affirmed that he was. Yet despite having a religious education from years of Catholic school, Christian tragically didn't know how we receive the gift of salvation. He had never heard that our Lord Jesus said, "unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3). It's such a joy and honor to share the Great News that we become "Born Again" and receive the forgiveness of sin through repentance and faith. Please pray for Christian and for the many Gospel seeds planted on campus.

This is Chloe, a kind young woman who said she had never thought about God and eternity before. She answered all my questions and let me explain about Jesus. She thanked me for my time and accepted a gift of a Gospel of John. Praise God!

Charlie here was very very skeptical, and had LOTS of questions for Chris. Thankfully it was a respectful and productive conversation. Charlie left with a Gospel of John and a lot to thnk about.

This is Catarina. She claimed to be a Christian, but she didn't know how to be forgiven. She and I talked about repentance and faith and she was sooo thankful.

This is Andrew, and he had a lot of great questions. I love that! He took a Gospel booklet and left with a lot to think about. It would glorious to see Andrew in Heaven!

This is sooooo cool! So we met a young man who is clearly on-fire for Jesus while we were evangelizing at a University. He is an intelligent, courteous, thoughtful Engineering Student who clearly puts Jesus first. He texted me to ask for prayer. He and his friend had secured a meeting with the President of the University with the specific purpose of sharing the Gospel with him. That would have intimidated me when I was in college. I remember witnessing to a Professor and my heart raced and raced. The two students met with the University President, had a productive Gospel conversation, and gave him 3 gifts: a Gospel tract, a book arguing for the truth of Christianity, and a Bible that they had the University President's name embossed on the cover! I purposefully have not named the University and I have pixelated the man's name on the Bible to protect him in today's "woke" and intolerant culture. Please pray for the salvation of this influential man. This reminds me a bit of when Paul got to present Jesus to Festus, Agrippa, and Bernice in Acts 25. How encouraging to meet students willing to stand up for Christ in front of the most powerful people they know. Hallelujah!

This is Kat, a student I haven't seen since before the pandemic. She and I used to talk about the Gospel all the time - and there she was talking with Eric - woo hoo! It's great to minister at the same location over and over because of people like Kat. Sometimes it takes many many conversations over years for someone to come to faith. Please pray for Kat. She is dabbling in Witchcraft and the Occult, but Jesus has saved MANY people from that.

A student STOLE one of our A-Frame signs! Crazy, huh? So much for "diversity of opinion" on campus. Actually, the sign is pretty effective. Lots of students stop to take photos of it and scan the QR code on the sign (which brings them to our evangelistic website, https://great-news.org). And the sign is a good conversation starter. I kinda think it's funny that someone stole one of them. You see, I hated Christianity when I was in college and I probably would have stolen one of our signs too. But Jesus won me over so he can grab a hold of anyone! I pray the same for whoever took our sign. Another funny thing... So we used to have two, but a student stole one. That means we only had 1. Buuut, I bought them in 2-packs so now we have THREE signs when we go on campus - more than before. If you look closely you can see I put gorilla tape on the legs because it was so windy. The take held the signs in the wind, bit I don't think the tape is strong enough to prevent them from being stolen. Truly, may God bless the young man or woman who took my sign by adopting him or her into his family through faith in Christ.

This is Gabe and he was so nice. I took him through the "Good Person Test" to illustrate that he's sinned many times and will stand before God on Judgment Day. When I shared the Great News that he can receive salvation through repentance and faith in Christ, he was happy about that. He gladly received the gift of a Gospel of John and said he'd read it! This next part is so cute. As Gabe was leaving I said, "God bless you," and he said, "you too. Wait, can I say 'you too?'" Since he knows he's not yet a follower of Jesus, he wasn't sure if it was appropriate for him to say "God bless you." What a tender heart. I hope he gets saved. Let's pray for that!
