Dear praying friends,
I love teaching at the weekly Inner City Kid’s Bible Club, but sadly it’s over for the summer.
For nearly three years Eric and I have been invited into the after-school program at a city Housing Development. This is a tremendous opportunity because this is a secular organization that invites us in to share the gospel with unchurched kids! That’s so so so great!!!
We meet in one of the roughest areas in the city. There have been stabbings, and shootings, lots of drugs, and crime abounds here. These kids have experienced much more than most of us have.
I really love and care about these kids and will miss them a lot over the summer. Honestly, sometimes they drive me crazy because they can be naughty and rude, but I still love them and want them to know Jesus.
Please keep these precious kids in prayer over the summer. I ended the last meeting by giving them each a Bible and pleading with them to read it every day and obeying what they read. Please pray that God will water the seeds planted.
Also, Ms. Theresa, who runs the program, told me she’s leaving and there will be a replacement next Fall. Please pray that her replacement is open to us teaching from the Bible.
Lastly, please pray for the attitude of the kids. They have been very rude and disrespectful to me, Eric, the volunteers who come in, to each other, and to God. I pray that God will truly make them born again and change them from the inside!
