Sal Trusts Christ on Saturday, Dies Monday – 2,000+ Hear Gospel

Last week my church had its annual Block Party, which is one of the major outreaches we do every year to reach our community. This year is one none of us will forget.

The man on the left is Sal. He came to the block party and turned from his sins and trusted Christ that day. Sal then came back the next morning to attend church.

After church my Pastor talked with him for quite some time and said that Sal appeared to be genuinely repentant, sorry for his sins, and a new believer in Christ!

The very next morning, Sal died unexpectedly of an aneurism.

Wow! God saved this man right in time!!! This is great rejoicing in Heaven because of Sal (and great rejoicing on earth too), and Sal is in the presence of Jesus Christ! This is why we share the gospel!!!

As if that weren’t enough reason to celebrate, God did many more wonderful things. A few of them are:

• Beautiful weather for most of the event.
• Even when it did rain in the last few hours, many people stayed despite the rain!
• 2,000+ people from our community came and heard the gospel of Jesus Christ!
• There was an unusual openness and tenderness to the things of God in the people attending. The ‘Prayer Zone’ was busier than it has ever been, and many people were open.
• The gospel was shared one-on-one by many of my church’s volunteers.
• The gospel was shared in the open air a number of times by myself, my Pastor, one of my Elders, and even an Extreme Bicyclist who came for the event!
• The local paper wrote up a very favorable article about the event, including great photos! Feel free to check that article out by clicking here.
