It doesn’t take long to figure out that I’m passionate about a few things:
- Jesus Christ
- My wife
- My kids
- The New England Patriots
And, YES, it IS in that order, with #4 being way behind #’s 1-3. So I was excited when my beloved Patriots made it to the Super Bowl, but even MORE excited when I heard that my Pastor wanted to use the Super Bowl as a tool to reach the unsaved.
I was asked to share the gospel message during half-time. So it was me versus Madonna! (he he he)
Even though the game didn’t end the way I wanted, (The Giants beat the Patriots), it was a BIG win for the Kingdom of God! 🙂
Many people were given out an evangelistic packet the day before the big game, and my two youngest children got to be a part of that (more on that below.) Also, there were people who came to our outreach in need of fellowship, and some who do not yet have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ! The gospel message was presented. For those things I rejoice!!!
Here’s the video of the gospel message I shared during half-time:
On Saturday, the day before the game, we gathered to assemble packets with:
- A Gospel of John Booklet, with extra evangelistic material included
- A gospel tract
- An invitation to the Super Bowl Party
It was a win-win situation! Even if people didn’t come to the outreach, they received the Word of God and a gospel message!
Here are some photos of some little evangelists handing out the packets on a cold day…
