A Gospel Booklet for Kids: Have You Heard the Great News?

We are soooooo excited to introduce a brand new resource to help reach kids with the Gospel in a way they can understand! ❤️

For years, we’ve been using a terrific booklet by the super folks at Living Waters Publications.

It’s called “The International Tract” and it was originally designed to be a long booklet with no words – just drawings.

This is so you could bring it to any country and it would work, even if you didn’t speak the language.

But we found that this booklet worked GREAT WITH KIDS because it lent itself to sitting with a child and flipping through page-by-page, asking him or her what he or she thinks is happening on each page.

And this worked GREAT! It really helped draw out of the child what he or she understood about God, sin, and salvation!

But it had a few problems:

• It literally had no words, so it really only worked with a child who already attended your Kid’s Bible Club, or VBS, or Sunday School. If a kid happened to find one and pick it up, it might be confusing.
• It wasn’t designed for children, so some of the drawings weren’t ideal for a kid. For instance, the page on “You shall not commit adultery.” Not ideal.
• The drawings were outdated. For instance, when illustrating the concept of coveting, it had a square glass-tube television and a very 1970’s looking car.
• The booklet was no longer being printed by Living Waters Publications!

My daughter, Juliana, is a super Artist (if this proud daddy can say so), so I asked her if she would update a few of the pages.

And she said “no.” But not in a bad way. You see, she looked at the original and saw that it wasn’t made for kids.

Juliana said, “Let’s re-do it from scratch for kids!” And that’s exactly what she did!

Juliana literally re-drew each and every page. But not just re-drew them, but re-designed them so they would illustrate the points better.

I’m blown away by the work she did!!!! 

Aaaaaand, we added an intro page of text and pages of text at the end explaining the booklet, so the new version of the booklet would still be effective even if a kid who didn’t attend Bible Teaching picked it up and flipped through it!

We’ve already begun giving these away!!!

I praise God that I’ve already given away over 500 of these booklets to kids I taught at Summer Camps this past summer.

And I gave away about 100 at an Inner-City Kid’s Bible Club (see the photo to the right).

And I mailed a couple hundred away around the country to Christians who wanted to use them in their kid’s ministry!!!! 

And I’m looking forward to giving away many more in Schools, at VBSs, at Kid’s Clubs, and anywhere we minister to children!
