Here’s a super-easy way to share your faith, especially as the weather gets nicer.
Today was a BEAUTIFUL afternoon, and I was at a playground with my kiddos. Lots of people were out with their dogs.
It’s good “doggie etiquette” to always ask a dog’s owner if it’s okay to pet a dog, because some dogs bite, are skittish, don’t like strangers, etc.
I’ve noticed that if I ask a stranger with a dog if I can pet their dog, and they say yes, and I tell them what a cute dog they have, and have quick “dog talk,” then they always 100% of the time will take a gospel tract from me.
Just tell them their dog is really cute (and all dogs are), and then say, “Here’s a gift for you. It has a gospel message on it and there’s no more valuable gift I can give you.” This happened a number of times for me at the park today, and as a bonus I was able to also give each person an invitation to Resurrection Day Service at church too!
So if you’re new to handing out gospel tracts, and you want to test the waters, an easy way to avoid people rejecting you is to make friends with their dog first, and then the dog’s owner will almost certainly be much friendlier and open to the tract.
I hope this is helpful! Please let me know how this works for you if you decide to give it a try!!!
in Christ and for His glory,
Mark (woof)
