If You Support Our Ministry, Please Read This Update (Thank You!)

Dear friends,

For months we’ve been telling people about our upcoming move from Open Air Campaigners to Reliant.

We’re getting VERY CLOSE to the transition time.

If you support our ministry in any way: prayer, financial, volunteering, all of the above, you have the right to know what’s going on. We hope this post communicates that.

If you do support our ministry work through financial donations, there are a few steps we need from you to do soon, please.

The Big News:

After a Decade with Open Air Campaigners, the Lord is moving us on to a new Missions Organization.

What will change?

Not much, really. We’ll still be going out to where the people are to lovingly and Biblically share the Gospel.

We’ll still be reaching the Lost at:

• the Beach
• in the Subways
• on Campus
• outside the Abortion Clinic
• at Camps
• at Schools
• and we’ll still be Training Christians in Evangelism

All that stays the same.

Did you break up with OAC?

Absolutely not! We love and appreciate OAC so so much. We’re sad to go.

We have a great relationship and we’ll still be teaming up with OAC Missionaries regularly.

Why the change?

For years we’ve been struggling with Health Insurance, but now we have the exciting opportunity to join a larger Mission Organization that can offer employment services, like group Health Insurance.

It’s a great fit for our family, and will free us to focus on the work of Evangelism and Training others, and not so much on administration.

We are thankful for the support of our Pastors, Board of Directors, and OAC Management.

New Mission Organization?

We are proud to partner with Reliant Mission. For 30+ years they have enabled hundreds of Churches, Gospel-centered nonprofits, and over 800 Missionaries to do the work of The Great Commission all over the world!

When will this take effect?

The transition starts right away. We need everyone to switch their donations to Reliant.

Would you please do this between now and December? (Please see the below for instructions.)

What we need?

We are reliant (did you catch the pun?) on the generous donations of people like you to fund our outreach work.

If you are not currently financially supporting our ministry, please consider starting in January. If you are currently giving, please consider increasing your giving, or giving a special gift to help us in our transition period. You’ll be making a difference in Eternity for the souls of The Lost! You are an essential part of the work that Jesus is doing for The Great Commission.

Current Donors: Please Transition Your Giving from Open Air Campaigners to Reliant by Following the Steps Below:

We are in need of you taking a few steps to ensure that your donations transition from OAC to Reliant.

Here are the “Easy-Peasy Instructions.”

1. First, THANK YOU for being willing to do this.
2. In a web Browser, go to: https://reliant.org/mark.sohmer
3. Under Mark’s photo on the left, click on the GREEN “Give Now” button.
4. Select the amount, please make sure it’s set for recurring and “monthly” (or whatever schedule you have setup).
5. This is important: Click the box below “STARTING ON:” and click over to January, 2021. Please select either January 5, or January 20.
6. Next you’ll verify, and create a Reliant account.
7. Finally, enter your payment details and click “Give Now.”
8. Reliant is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and https://reliant.org/mark.sohmer is a secure encrypted website.
9. Finally, send an email to Open Air Campaigners at usa@oaci.org and say something like, “Please let my December donation to The Sohmer Family be my final gift.”
10. And that’s it! Thank you so much for being a blessing in this way!

If You Currently Give by Mailing a Check:

1. Thank you, thank you. You’re making a difference for Eternity!
2. Please continue to mail in your October, November, and December gift to Open Air Campaigners, just like you always do.
3. The very first check you send is handled a bit differently. (It’s a teensy bit complicated, but not too bad. Here we go…)
4. Please make your check payable to “Reliant Mission” and send your first check to me. This is because I have initial paperwork I need to fill out to ensure that Reliant correctly credits your gift to our Staff Account. I’ll mail your first check to Reliant for you. Then Reliant will mail you a receipt with a return envelope for future donations. (That wasn’t so hard, right?)
5. Please mail your first check to: The Sohmer Family, 30 Watson Hill Rd, Raymond, NH 03077.
6. And that’s it! Thank you so much for being a blessing in this way!
