Meet the Höfler family: Stefan, Judith, Hannah, Lisa, and Benjamin.
They’re Missionaries with Open Air Campaigners in Austria.
God recently used them, and their ministry partner, Dave Knight, to change the life of a Muslim woman in Vienna forever.
I’m soooo excited to share this with you!
It’s a powerful reminder that “Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases” (Psalm 115:3).
The following is Dave Knight’s account of what happened:
One of my ministry trips this summer saw me preaching with the Sketchboard along with a team in Stephansplatz, the main central square of Vienna, Austria. We had a large team and large crowds. A young Muslim woman came forward after I gave the invitation and here is her story.
She told the women who were counseling her that the previous night she had a dream. In her dream she was in a river of blood along with thousands of her religion. Many extremists were doing deadly acts which filled the river with even more blood. All of them together were heading over a precipice to destruction. She wanted to get out of the river of blood but did not know how.
Her god seemed powerless to help and in fact seemed to be the cause of the problem.
In her dream she decided to pray to the Christian’s God. Immediately in her dream she saw a painting of a green hill with a red cross on the top of it. There was a man standing in front of the painting saying “Come to Jesus.”
The very next day as she walked through the city square she saw that same painting and the same man with outreached hand saying “Come to Jesus.” I was that man.
She walked up to me and said “I want to know Jesus.”
What a blessing to see and meet this woman at our church service in Vienna the next day. I preached on being “Fishers of People” and afterwards this young woman exclaimed that she was first a caught fish but now a fisherman who would go out and tell her family how they can be saved by trusting in Jesus alone. The Lord is calling people out of every religion to be saved. Praise Him!
Here’s what this woman saw on the streets of Vienna the day after her dream. She saw Dave Knight and Stefan Höfler at the sketch board. Notice the “painting of a green hill with a red cross on the top of it” just like in her dream the night before. And Dave was crying out with outstretched hands, “Come to Jesus,” just like in her dream the night before.
WOW!
This gives me this chills! I certainly hope and pray that this is a great encouragement to you.
Stefan Höfler said about this amazing event, “God does prepare divine appointments when we go out to share the Good News. Let us pray for them!” Amen!
This is also a great encouragement to me for a second reason. It’s great to know that God has lead me to serve with a Missions organization that is reaching out all over the world. I don’t often get to meet my International Open Air Campaigners colleagues, but it’s great to know they’re out there in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, etc., sharing Christ by all means everywhere.
