It’s also great for Christians who want to learn to share their faith, but are a bit intimidated. We tend to get a friendly crowd at the beach.
One of my favorite spots is Hampton Beach, on the Seacoast of New Hampshire.
I like to joke that the Town of Hampton wants people to hear the gospel soooo bad that they put on an expensive fireworks show every Wednesday evening in the summer to attract a crowd so that Open Air Campaigners can share Christ with people! 🙂
Every Wednesday is fireworks at 9:30pm, and lots of people start gathering around 7pm with not much to do and they’re often very willing to listen to open-air preaching and chat afterwards! In just a few hours we can reach hundreds of people for Jesus Christ!
God provides sooo many “divine appointments.”
Please pray for Joanne, a woman in her 20’s I met recently. She listened to a few open-air messages. I spoke with her and she told me that she had come to the Lord through Teen Challenge, but, in her own words, “have been tempted back into the world.” She admitted to not living for Jesus and told me that she really wants to. She really listened to the preaching intently and our conversation was very encouraging. Please keep Joanne in your prayers! It’s worth going to the beach to evangelize just to reach someone like Joanne!
Please pray for the Beach Evangelism this summer!
Here are some photos from Hampton Beach recently…

Here’s an example of what an open-air message looks like at the beach at night. It’s just 14 minutes. I hope it’s a blessing to you!
all for Jesus,
Mark
This is exciting! Can I suggest you post a calendar of upcoming events–such as dates you have important meetings and events coming up so we can pray? Or days where you will be going to the beach or park and others may join you if they can commit? Perhaps survey your dist list to see who might be interested and whether it would make sense to do something like this. I would be interested in joining a beach night one of these days.
Blessings,
Nadia
Great idea Nadia! I’ll have to add that to my growing “to do” list of administrative tasks.
