Would you please pray for the following people who particularly stood out:
-
Celeste: It was a windy day and there weren’t a lot of people around, so Aaron and I were a little disappointed because we didn’t think (in our flesh) that God was going to do a lot today. We were WRONG! Before we even preached, a college student named Celeste came up and asked what we were doing. We explained that we were out talking about Jesus, the Bible, faith, and we use our paint board as a creative way to do that. We asked her opinion. Wow did God prepare her already! She was very interested in knowing as much as we could tell her. She gave us her email address and contact information after talking with her for a while. So much for us judging how God is going to work just because of the weather! I call Celeste our “miracle” for the day, but really, God sends miracles all the time.

Bagava-Jacob: Bagava-Jacob is a Jewish man who converted to Hare Krishna. He had a shaved head with the small amount of hair on the back, called himself a monk, and was out on the streets trying to give people literature. Well, sell them literature (more on that in a bit.)
I spoke with him about sin and he claimed he could get to a state of never sinning. He said he has vowed to never drink alcohol, live in poverty, and never have sex. And he claimed this would make him sinless. I told him he would still be accountable to sin in the heart, but he claimed he could avoid sinning in the heart. This is just pure self-righteousness.
He did take a copy of my testimony printed as a gospel tract.
He wanted to give me a copy of his Bhagavadgita scriptures, and I said, “sure, I’ll take a copy.” After I had it in my hand he said I had to purchase it. I told him I don’t bring any cash with me when I go into the city, so he took the book back. I don’t mean this to sound snarky, but is he really concerned for my soul? I mean, Christians give out free Bibles ALL THE TIME because we care about people. I’ve never taken a Bible back from someone because they wouldn’t pay. In fact, I’ve never asked them to pay. I thought this was very sad and I feel very bad for him. Please keep this confused young man in your prayers.

Eric: After I preached a message, Eric approached Aaron and asserted that he doesn’t believe in God because he only believes things that have evidence. I got in on the conversation. I asked him if every claim must have evidence to back it up to be true? He said, “yes.” Then I asked him if he realized that the statement, “every claim must have evidence to back it up to be true” is itself a claim, and I asked him for his evidence for that. He admitted he didn’t have any evidence for that statement. “It just is,” he said. I said, “But you said every claim has to have evidence, but your claim fails that standard. It’s irrational and self-defeating.” He appeared to not know how to answer that. He asked me if I’m against evidence, and I said, “Sure, I’m for evidence, but I have a worldview that supports evidence without being contradictory, while your worldview can’t support your claims.” And I got to share the Christian worldview, that we have a God who knows everything and communicates to us in such a way that we can know things for certain. It was a great conversation, and one of the reasons I like college evangelism – it often gets very philosophical. And we know from the Word that philosophy in itself isn’t bad, but worldly philosophy is. Eric heard the gospel, and we was shown that he is standing on a worldview that is self-contradictory. Please pray for that seed.

Aaron and Brian: Aaron and Brian are two Boston University students who chatted with us after one of our messages. They each had a nominal religious upbringing, and each appeared open to the gospel. They appreciated the chat, and so did we!

A Muslim Woman: I didn’t get her name, but Aaron spoke with her for a while. There’s a photo of her below. She said she has lived through three wars in Iraq, and considers the United States a peaceful country. Aaron shared the gospel with her and she was very open about it.
