I recently blogged about how effective and fun the Lie Detector Test from Living Waters can be to start gospel conversations. (Click here to see that blog post.) But it’s big and bulky, so they make a pocket-sized one.
The description from Living Waters’ website says:
A very powerful magnet causes the cube to drop onto the “NO” every time.
It’s a unique and fun way to start a conversation by letting someone do the test, and then asking, “Do you think it’s wrong? Let’s go through some of the Ten Commandments and see . . .”
My 10-year-old daughter, Juliana, wanted a way to get the cube to go to “Yes” to make the gospel illustration even better, and she came up with a brilliant solution!
In short, after showing that none of us are good people, and taking someone through the Law, if they are concerned, we share the great news of the gospel. Then tell them because of Jesus, God sees us as if we’re good and now we can go to Heaven. Juliana discovered that if you use a magnetic “tot lock” key that is made to keep toddlers out of cabinets, and put it on the back of the “Lie Detector Test” on the other side of where the “Yes” is, then the metal cube will stick on “Yes!”
So you tell the person, “Please try again to see if a person who has trusted Christ is seen by God as good enough.” The person drops the metal cube and this time it goes to “Yes!” I’m so proud of Juliana for figuring that out!
Here are some photos. Please click on them to enlarge.
If you’d like to order your own “Pocket-Sized Lie Detector Test,” you can get them from Living Waters by clicking here. The tot-lock magnet can be found in stores like Wal-mart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
I hope this will help you in starting conversations with people who need to hear the great news of Jesus Christ!!!
