We Made the Front Page of a Christian Newspaper

Posted on Nov 03 , 2017 in Blog & Colleges & Kids_Ministry & Street_Evangelism

Dear Praying Friends,

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the head of a Christian Newspaper who told me that he heard of the work I do and wanted to write an article about it.

Honestly, I was a little skeptical that this was real, but after talking with others, I found out that the newspaper is legit.

A reporter from The Good News Today called me and we talked about Evangelism, Missions, Theology, even Jewish food!

When I received the electronic version of the article, I was humbled and overjoyed. Humbled by the nice words written about our work, and overjoyed that readers will learn that God uses Street Evangelism!

The Good News Today is a 20-page monthly newspaper with a circulation of 16,000 throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

If you’d like to read an electronic version of the article, please feel free to click here, or click the graphic below.

I hope this post has encouraged you.

Thank you for your partnership, prayers, and financial support, without which we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!!!

Please share this update with others you think would be blessed by it!

all for Jesus,

Mark (and family)

December Newsletter: Jesus Did SOOO Much This Summer

Posted on Dec 17 , 2016 in Beach & Blog & Camp & Church_Teams & Colleges & Kids_Ministry & Newsletters & Object_Lessons & Sermons & Street_Evangelism & Subways & Training

Dear friends,

Recently I mailed off our latest paper newsletter.

God has been doing AMAZING things, and it’s a privilege to share some of it with you. I pray that this newsletter is a blessing to you!

God gave us Divine Appointments with Muslims, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Atheists, Agnostics, and just about anyone you can imagine.

We’ve also been able to go into Local Churches and build up, train, and encourage Christians to share their faith wherever they are!

And we had lots of Mission Trip Groups come to us this summer to train, be equipped, and go back home to be more effective Ambassadors for Jesus where they live!

I pray that you’ll be as encouraged as I am!!!

This newsletter has mostly photos in it, so it doesn’t take too long to read.

If you want to read it right away, or if you don’t get a paper one, please feel free to read an electronic version by clicking on the graphic below…

If you don’t usually receive the paper copy of the newsletter, but would like to, please contact us and let us know your address and we’ll gladly add you to our mailing list! 🙂

We love you and thank God for you! Please contact us anytime and let us know how we can pray for you!

And please feel free to forward this to anyone you think would be blessed by it!

For Christ and His gospel,

Mark, Shelby, Vivienne, Juliana, Caleb, and Gabriella

Jesus Reached Muslims, Atheists, Internationals, and More at the University

Posted on May 14 , 2016 in Blog & Colleges

Dear praying friends,

I love love love love sharing Jesus at Universities. It’s a tremendous mission field, where God sends our way students from all walks of life, and from all over the world!

We had a fruitful Spring, focusing on The University of Massachusetts, and The University of New Hampshire.

I previously wrote about the one-day “Evangelistic DVD Blitz” where we gave away 600 Evangelistic DVDs! To see that post, feel free to check it out at: http://luke-15.org/2016/04/40-christians-reach-1500-lost-students-in-2-hours/.

Other than reaching unsaved Students, University ministry is a blessing because we run into Christian students, some of which have never seen effective Open Air Ministry. I hope and pray that God uses us to embolden Christian students to share the gospel with strangers.

In the photos and descriptions below, I make reference to “The Good Person Test.” This is a tool that I’ve found to be very very effective in getting students to think about eternal things.

Please feel free to click on the graphic below to download a copy of “The Good Person Test.” Please print it out and use it in your own personal evangelism. And if you want it as a Microsoft Word document, so you can edit it and add your own contact information, just let me know and I’ll get it to you.

You can always find the latest version of “The Good Person Test” at: http://luke-15.org/good-person-test.pdf.

I’ll let the following photos explain what has happened on campus recently.

Please pray for us and those we meet!

This is Nkechi, an International Student from Nigeria. She let me take her through the whole gospel message - the bad news and the great news, and had good questions. She said she had never heard this message before. I looked up her name, and Nkechi means "God's Gift." I pray that Nkechi thinks about what we talked about and receives God's Gift of salvation in Jesus Christ!

This is Meddi, a Muslim student from Morocco. He's President of the Muslim Student Group on campus, and you can see that Eric opened the Word of God and reasoned from the Scriptures with him. They some for over an hour! Meddi made a number of historically and Biblically inaccurate statements, but was very persistent. He took a DVD on the Gospel of Luke in Arabic and English, and he agreed to pray to God to ask if he's following the wrong god. Please pray that Meddi will hear that he is following a false idol, and that he'll turn to the True and Living God! Thank You Jesus!

It always amazes me how age differences go away when discussing "life and death." These two young ladies had a fruitful conversation with a man who could be their grandfather!

Me sharing the gospel to a group of students at the University of Massachusetts. There were a few zesty hecklers, (who both told me their name was "Luke.") I don't know if both of them have the same name, Luke, or not, but God knows. Please pray for those two, and the others who heard.

Chloe had learned the famous "Open Air Campaigners 3 Rope Trick" and was asking students if they wanted to see it. A number of them stopped what they were doing to watch and LISTEN to Chloe. You can see the look on the faces of the girls as they saw the ropes appear to become the same size, and then appear to be different again. I pray that the gospel message that goes with the trick sticks with them! Way to go Chloe!

It was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop over 400 students from taking gospel tracts from us, as well as over a dozen fruitful conversations, like this one with Garrett (left.) Garrett thought he was good enough to gain God's approval without Jesus. Tyler (center) was listening in. Tyler is a Roman Catholic student who believes his "religion" will save him. Please pray that both these gentlemen realize that their own goodness is worthless, and that's why Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross.

This is Emily, and her interaction with Chris was both funny and sad at the same time. Funny because she came right over and introduced herself as "Editor of the School Paper" and told us authoritatively that our banner would "never attract students" to come speak with us. That's funny because students had been coming over the whole afternoon. But sad because she told us we're wrong to tell people that they're wrong. It's sad that she didn't see that she was guilty of doing exactly what she accused us of doing. Oh, God, how I pray that students will come to Christ and see the contradiction of living apart from Him!

In addition to the people in the photos, some other people who stood out are:

  • Brian: Brian is a skeptical student who asked us lots of questions. I believe we gave him answers, but each answer just prompted him to hit us with more questions. Please pray that God reaches Brian.

  • Chia and Shannon: Chia is a young lady from a Buddhist background, and Shannon said she was completely non-religious. They both listened to the gospel message, and were very friendly.

  • Thomas: Thomas is a Roman Catholic student who sadly kept repeating his belief that he’s a good enough person to get to Heaven on his own.

  • Zach: Zach is a friendly Greek Orthodox student who spoke with Eric for a while. He kept telling Eric that he was all set to go to Heaven because of the good things he does. Eric asked him, “If you’re going to go to Heaven because of what you do, then who are you ultimately trusting in?” Eric wanted Zach to see that he’s trusting in himself, not Jesus. Eric even said, “If you’re good enough on your own, then why did Jesus die on the cross?”

  • Michael: Michael was quick to tell us that he has taught “CCD” (Roman Catholic Sunday School) for years, yet he didn’t know how to be forgiven. Sadly, this isn’t all that uncommon. Please pray for Michael.

  • Andrew: Andrew is extremely open to the gospel message. He told me that he “really wants to know the truth about God.” But then he told me why. Andrew has a girlfriend who he said was “very religious” so he wants to, quote, “figure things out.” I know he heard the simple truth of the gospel, and I pray that both he and his girlfriend will know Jesus as Savior.

  • Erica: Erica was another “Sunday School Teacher” who didn’t know the gospel. She said she taught Sunday School for 5 years, but admitted to being an Agnostic, and thought she was good enough to go to Heaven on her own.

  • Yikau: Yikau is an International Student from China. His English wasn’t superb, and he appreciated that I gave him a gospel tract in Chinese. After explaining the gospel message to him, he told me that a Christian organization on campus, Cru, was very nice to him and that he had attended some of their events. I think it’s terrific that God would send Yikau our way to hear the gospel, and also send him to Cru to hear the gospel! 🙂

  • Cam: This is cool! Cam approached us to listen to the gospel message. He said he believes everything we said! It turns out that he recently became a Christian! I asked him what church he attends, and it’s a church I have preached at, and I know the Pastor! Cam said he’s getting baptized shortly. Very cool!

  • Mike: Mike is a student who identified himself as “Protestant.” When I asked him about his faith and where he believes he’s going when he dies, he told me that he didn’t know it was possible to know for sure that you can have eternal life. I shared 1 John 5:13 with him. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). Mike thought you had to be good enough to go to Heaven, and even then, you can’t be sure. I had the privilege to share with him that when we repent and believe, we become (presently) a child of God forever.

  • Tim: Tim came right over to Chris and started giving him a hard time. He was loud, and argumentative. He asked a lot of questions that are very common and easy to answer. Chris did a great job answering Tim’s questions, but then he’d ask another. It didn’t appear to us that Tim was really interested in coming to a knowlege of the truth, but rather just wanted to argue. That’s one of the saddest things about evangelism – when you see someone so hardened against the Lord. But I was very hardened against the Lord, and He still reached out and saved me! If Jesus can save me, He can save anyone, even someone like Tim. Oh, and it turns out that Tim is into studying satanic literature and practices, so there’s definitely a spiritual battle going on there. Please pray for Tim. Thanks!

  • Cameron: Cameron is a student with New Age beliefs. Chris got to share with him his testimony on how Jesus saved him out of the New Age! Cameron was interested enough to take an evangelistic DVD from us and allowed Chris to take him through “The Good Person Test.”

  • Brian: Brian is a Roman Catholic student who thought that you had to be good to earn Heaven. After taking “The Good Person Test” and listening to the gospel of grace, he said, “I’m not sure what to believe.” He did take our evangelistic DVD, so I pray that God will water the seeds planted in Brian’s heart.

As you can see, God uses University Ministry to reach a lot of people who might not otherwise hear the truth about Jesus. I’m sad that it’s over for the summer. But I look forward, Lord willing, to ministering at the Universities again in the Fall!!!

We love you and thank Jesus for you!

Thank you so much for your prayers, financial support, and notes of encouragement, without which we would not be able to reach the Lost for Jesus Christ!

Please contact us anytime and let us know how we can pray for you!

40 Christians Reach 1,500+ Lost Students in 2 Hours!

Posted on Apr 14 , 2016 in Blog & Colleges

Dear Saints,

Every day we go out to reach the Lost is amazing, but I wanted to focus on one specific day that was particularly memorable.

I live for helping Christians evangelize more. I just love that! I know that most Christians want to be used by God to reach out to the Lost, but sometimes need help getting started.

So I was sooooo excited when I was approached with a GREAT opportunity to make a huge impact for Jesus in an easy, non-threatening, non-confrontational way that was perfect for Christians who wanted to get their feet wet in evangelism.

I was given 600 evangelistic DVDs, but one of the stipulations for getting all these DVDs for free was to give them out in one day.

The DVDs were generously donated by Wretched Radio, a great TV and Radio show that equips Christians to share the gospel.

The DVDs contains a clear, strong, and precise gospel presentation featuring: Voddie Baucham, Ray Comfort, Emeal (“E.Z.”) Zwayne and Todd Friel. It’s about 28 minutes long, and the DVD includes both the English and Spanish versions of the presentation!

This was part of Wretched Radio’s ongoing project to get the gospel out all over the country (and beyond.) They had teams all over the United States giving out the exact same DVD on the exact same day, so we were part of something pretty big!

I praise God that over 40 Christians showed up to help give out the DVDs, and that He allowed us to give out 600 DVDs and nearly 1,000 gospel tracts in 7 locations on campus in under 2 hours!

Here are some photos from this amazing day.

Here are some exciting statistics about what Wretched Radio has been able to accomplish:

  • On the same exact day we were giving out DVDs in New Hampshire, there were teams giving out DVDs Texas, Rhode Island, Vermont, and 2 teams in Massachusetts!

  • They have had DVD giveaways in almost every state in America with thousands of DVDs in each state!

  • They gave away 3,000 DVDs in the month of March, 2016.

  • By the end of April, 2016, they will have given out 12,000 evangelistic DVDs.

  • All of these outreaches are supported by www.wretchedradio.com listeners and www.biggestproject.com followers.

  • Please email Trish if you would like to help support more DVD outreaches: trish@wretchedradio.com.

Please pray for all the Students, Faculty, and University Staff who received the DVDs and tracts! Please also pray for the Christians who participated, that they will not find “stranger evangelism” nearly as frightening anymore. And please pray for the other teams around the Country that were part of the outreach, and that Wretched can continue this outreach in the future!

We love you and thank God for you! Please contact us anytime and let us know how we can pray for you!

Thank you so much for your prayer support, financial support, and notes of encouragement, without which we could not be out reaching the Lost for Jesus!

HUGE OUTREACH – Big DVD Giveaway!!!

Posted on Mar 05 , 2016 in Blog & Colleges & Street_Evangelism

Dear praying friends,

Big Outreach on March 30, 2016!

I need lots of help passing out 600 evangelistic DVDs to students at the University of New Hampshire on Wednesday, March 30. Will you join us????

What You Need To Know:

  • Date: Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

  • Time: 10AM until the DVDs are gone (I’d like commitments to stay as late as 6PM – but it probably won’t last that long).

  • Place: We’ll meet at the back parking lot of Durham Evangelical Church
114 Dover Road, Durham, NH 03824
See it on Google Maps here: https://goo.gl/maps/Pm1yWQTs3w22.

  • Outdoors?: Yes, it’s outdoors, no matter the weather, so dress accordingly.

  • How Should I Dress?: We want to blend in as much as possible, so feel free to dress casually. Jeans and t-shirts are fine. It is a good idea to dress in layers. That way, if it gets chilly, you can put on a fleece jacket, but if it gets warm, you can take off a layer.

  • BRING A SNACK: We’re going to be out starting at 10am, possibly for a number of hours. So you’ll have a very late lunch (or skip right to dinner). It’s a good idea to bring some fruit or granola bars, or something that will keep your blood sugar constant.

  • BRING WATER: It is easier to get dehydrated than you think, so having a water bottle nearby is a must!

  • Anything Else?: There’s a FANTASTIC falafel place in town, so reward yourself with a superb falafel sandwich afterward!

  • Questions?: Contact Mark at 603-244-6292 or http://luke-15.org/contact-us/

  • I Want To Do It!: Contact Mark at 603-244-6292 or http://luke-15.org/contact-us/

Bible Verses to Consider:

Please actively remember that we’re representing Jesus Christ, so let’s pray that we are lead by His Spirit, and not our flesh. We are also representing Open Air Campaigners, and OAC has a long-term presence at UNH, evangelizing weekly as weather permits. The UNH Police are friendly to us because they have learned that we are respectful to students. And God honors our respect to students by allowing us to share the gospel unhindered on a nearly weekly basis. Let’s not jeopardize that by reacting harshly, even if provoked by students.

These Bible verses are very helpful to us so that we can be the friendliest people at UNH:

  • 2 Timothy 2:24-25: And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth

  • Romans 12:21: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

  • Proverbs 15:1: A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

REMEMBER:

We’re meeting in the back parking lot of Durham Evangelical Church at 10am!

Please CALL ME AT 603-244-6292 with questions/problems/concerns/anything.

BIG OPPORTUNITY!!!

Most Christians want to be used by God to reach out to the Lost, but sometimes need help getting started.

We have a GREAT opportunity to make a huge impact for Jesus in an easy, non-threatening, non-confrontational way that is perfect if you want to get your feet wet in evangelism.

I have been given 600 evangelistic DVDs, (look at them all!!!), but one of the stipulations for getting all these DVDs for free is to give them out in one day.

I need a bunch of people to commit to heading to the University of New Hampshire on Wednesday, March 30, to pass these DVDs out.

You don’t need to be a Pastor. You don’t need to be a genius. You just have to love Jesus and love the Lost and be willing to hand out DVDs for free. You can do this!!!

Would you free up Wednesday, March 30, to join in? We’ll need lots of bodies coordinated around the campus to give out this many DVDs. Think about the impact for God’s Kingdom if even a fraction of the students watch and consider the gospel message! Very exciting!!!

It gets better! I praise God that the UNH Police were quick to grant us a permit!!!

I really do need lots of helpers, so please contact me at 603-244-6292 or mark@Luke-15.org with any questions.

And if you know anyone else who might be interested, maybe some UNH students you know who love Jesus, please let them know about this too!

The DVDs are generously being donated by Wretched Radio, a great TV and Radio show that equips Christians to share the gospel.

The DVD contains a clear, strong, precise gospel presentation featuring: Voddie Baucham, Ray Comfort, Emeal (“E.Z.”) Zwayne and Todd Friel. It’s about 28 minutes long and the DVD includes both the English and Spanish versions of the presentation!

You can find more info on this outreach at: http://biggestproject.com

Whether you live nearby or not, please keep March 30 in prayer!!!

We love you and thank Jesus for you!

Thank you so much for your prayers, financial support, and notes of encouragement, without which we would not be able to reach the Lost for Jesus Christ!

Please contact us anytime and let us know how we can pray for you!

And please feel free to forward this to anyone you think would be blessed by it!

October Newsletter: Amazing Summer of Outreach, and News About Deputation

Posted on Oct 19 , 2015 in Beach & Blog & Camp & Church_Teams & Colleges & Kids_Ministry & Newsletters & Sermons & Street_Evangelism & Subways & Training

Dear friends,

Recently I mailed off our latest paper newsletter.

This goes out about 4 times per year.

God has been doing AMAZING things, and it’s a privilege to share some of it with you. I pray that this newsletter is a blessing to you!

We had effective evangelism at the Beach, on the Streets, in Neighborhoods, at Camp, and at local Churches. Summer is a great time for Church Mission Trips and we had some superb Teams who were trained and are going back to their homes as more effective Evangelists! Exiting Stuff!!!

I pray that you’ll be as encouraged as I am!!!

This newsletter has mostly photos in it, so it doesn’t take too long to read.

Exciting Ways God is Working on Campus!

Posted on May 28 , 2015 in Blog & Colleges

Dear praying friends,

Sharing Jesus with College and University Students is definitely a highlight of the year. I love it!

God saved me as a college student 21 years ago and I am convinced God still saves college students today!

And one of the really cool things about Campus ministry is that people come from all over the world to attend Universities in New England!!!

Would you kindly pray for the following students we met?

  • Brodie: Brodie wanted to know how to know he’s saved. He didn’t own a Bible and he was really excited when I gave him one. He gave me his email address.

  • Phillip: Phillip attended AWANA growing up, but does not have a relationship with Jesus. Despite what appeared to be a good Christian upbringing, he doesn’t want anything to do with what he was taught as a kid. That’s so so sad, but I’m glad we ran into each other on campus and I was able to plead with him to know Christ.

  • Dominique: Dominique is a Jehovah’s Witness, but she took a worksheet I wrote on the Trinity. This is HUGE because Jehovah’s Witnesses are commanded not to take literature from people. She also gave me a hug. If you want to see the worksheet on the Trinity, it is available at: http://Luke-15.org/trinity.pdf.

  • Brian: Brian is a member of a dangerous cult called The Boston Church of Christ. As usual, we bantered back-and-forth over whether water baptism is required for salvation. Brian’s cult teaches that it is, and you have to be baptized by THEIR CHURCH for it to count. Honestly, it didn’t appear that I reached Brian at all, but God is powerful and able to do so much more than we think! If you want to learn more about The Boston Church of Christ, please see: http://luke-15.org/resources/#ICOC

  • Bryce: Bryce was the opposite of Brian. He was so tender-hearted and open to the gospel message. He’s heard. Now I pray he will receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.

  • Bryce: Bryce was the opposite of Brian. He was so tender-hearted and open to the gospel message. He took a Bible from me as well as the “Will You Go To Heaven Test.” He’s heard. Now I pray he will receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. If you want to see the “Will You Go To Heaven Test,” you can download that at: http://www.luke-15.org/good-person-test.pdf.

  • Nick: Nick is not a believer, but told me that his dad is a born-again Christian. Isn’t it cool that God prepares all these encounters? I have no doubt that Nick’s dad prays for him regularly to hear and respond to the gospel message!

  • Michael: Michael considered himself an “intellectual,” and “open,” but he had a number of logical fallacies. For instance, he said that you can’t know anything absolutely. But saying “there are no absolutes” is itself an absolute statement, so it’s self-contradictory. It’s like saying “there are no words” but using “words” to say it. Michael and I spoke for over a half hour. He took a gospel DVD from me, so that’s positive!

There are so many more individuals who were reached. The photos below tell the exciting stories…

I started using this "3 Door" wooden object lesson recently and God has blessed it TREMENDOUSLY! As students walk by, we asked them if they could name three things God can't do. Many were curious, but couldn't think of anything God can't do. So we invited them to open the doors to find the answers. Door #1: "God Can't Lie." Door #2: "God Can't Be Unjust." When they get to the third one, "God Can't Allow Lawbreakers Into Heaven," we ask them what they think and it's a SUPER-EASY transition to a gospel conversation. I want to thank my friend and Pastor, Bob Crabb, for building this wooden object lesson for me. By God's grace, we were able to share the gospel with a lot of people and give out Bibles, as well as evangelistic books, booklets, and DVDs.

It's uncommon for Faculty or University Staff to stop and talk with us at college campuses, but Slava, a Ukrainian woman from the Greek Orthodox church, stopped and let me take her through God's plan of redemption. She said she agreed with what I said and even told me to "keep up the good work talking about Jesus." Sadly when I asked her why she should go to Heaven, she held onto her good works and church. Please keep Slava in your prayers. How neat to meet a Ukrainian in Durham, New Hampshire!

God blessed us with a SUPERB afternoon of evangelism at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst (definitely worth the 3-hour-drive!) In this photo I'm asking people who they say Jesus is, and pleading with them to follow Jesus as Lord. A handful of women from a student organization that promotes open sex (they called it uncommitted hookups) heckled us. Other than that, the students were very friendly and took hundreds of gospel tracts! Praise God!

Someone called the Police on us, so the "Boys in Blue" (or yellow), came to chat with us. Thankfully they agreed pretty quickly that we weren't braking any laws, weren't disturbing the peace, and they told us in a friendly manner that we could keep reaching out to the students. Yay God for granting us favor with the Police!!!

Patrick (on left) is a great reminder of why we go out to where the people are. Chris (right) spoke with him for a while and Patrick appeared to understand and be truly concerned that he deserves the Lake of Fire. He seemed to understand that He needed Jesus as Savior. Please keep Patrick in your prayers. I sent Patrick a follow-up email and I hope we'll be able to stay in touch. Prayers needed!

I found this in one of the buildings on campus. Yes, it's come to this. This is what our students are indoctrinated in. I pray they hear and respond to the gospel message, and not the messages of the world.

This is Amber, a Chinese student who listened to my whole open-air message. Eric had a fruitful conversation with her afterwards. Amber said that growing up in China, nobody ever taught her anything about God, and she never thought about spiritual things. But she agreed there must be a god. She took a Bible from Eric and asked him to write his name in it because she said that she could tell that God and the Bible are very precious to him. Isn't that sweet? Please pray for Amber

This is Kaia and Rebecca. Kaia is half Jewish and half Mormon, but knows very little about the Bible. The three of us had a FRUITFUL talk where I explained that we've all offended the Holy God and Jesus is our only Deliverer. Both Kaia and Rebecca took a Bible from me and an evangelistic DVD. What a privilege to represent the King of kings!

This was taken on the only difficult day we had of Campus Evangelism. This may sound strange, but I could feel an oppressive evil spirit that day. The spiritual warfare was obvious. It started with this colorful student, Justin, who claimed that trees have feelings just like humans, and there's no difference between hurting a tree and hurting a human. He gave both Eric and I a 30-second hug to "exchange energy." And he told us that it is wrong to tell someone else that they're wrong. I pointed out that he was telling us that we're wrong, so he is failing his own standard and contradicting himself. But he told me that I'm still wrong.

That day it seemed like everyone just wanted to fight with us, and I promise we were being respectful and peaceful. It was as if the enemy sent us a bunch of students well entrenched in satanic thinking.

A bonus of going back to the same campus is running into the same students and forming a relationship with them! I was so glad to run into my friend Weiwen while evangelizing at Boston University! I first met her a year and a half ago while ministering at BU. She had just come to the United States from China. She and I have stayed in touch ever since and I have been able to share the gospel with her a number of times. I gave her a Bible in Mandarin. Please pray that Weiwen receives Jesus as her Savior soon. If you want to read about how we met, it's at: http://luke-15.org/2013/10/reaching-two-amazing-chinese-students-in-boston/

In this photo I'm taking Olivia and Genevieve through "The Good Person Test." It lead to a fruitful discussion of our need for a Savior and Jesus being that Savior. What was funny was that an hour or so later Genevieve walked by and said in a very kind way, "Hey, Mark, how's it going?" like she was a long-time friend. My brain kicked in and I realized who it was and was able to say, "Hey, Genevieve." Also, if you look to the left, you can see the 4'x3' banner I use that says "Will You Go to Heaven? Take Our Quick Test to Find Out." That banner attracts students to come over. Sometimes students ask if they can get their picture taken with me in front of it. :)

I love University ministry and look forward to it again in the Autumn!

Please continue to pray for our family and the OAC team, especially as the BUSY summer ministry season heats up!

Thank you for your prayers, notes of encouragement, and financial support. Without all of those, we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!

Please feel free to share this with others you think would be encouraged by it, and who will pray!

College Ministry – Muslims, Atheists, Internationals, and More Hear About Jesus!

Posted on Dec 18 , 2014 in Blog & Colleges & Street_Evangelism

Dear praying friends,

Universities are a superb place to meet Muslims, atheists, International Students, and just about every other demographic.

There are a WHOLE LOT OF people who attend colleges and universities around here. And it’s amazing to go out where they are to introduce them to Jesus!

I made extensive use of a printout called “The Good Person Test.”

This was really helpful, as it kept one-on-one conversations focused, and the students could keep the papers afterwards and they contain a clear gospel message.

If you’d like to read “The Good Person Test,” or print it out to use it yourself, please click on the picture below.

Rather than ramble on about the people we met this past fall at Universities, I’ll let the following photos do the talking. I think they’ll encourage you!

Click on photos to enlarge them...
Check this out, left-to-right: Jimmy is witnessing to James, a man involved with a cult known as the "Boston Church of Christ." At the same time, Wayne is sharing his faith with an ardent Muslim, and on the right, Ray is reasoning with an Atheist. This is why we go out into the open air! This was at Boston University.

This is my 9-year-old daughter, Gabriella, handing out gospel tracts at the University of New Hampshire. When people asked her what they were, she confidently, in her helium voice, said, "They're about God!"

This is Victor, a very tender student at the University of New Hampshire. I got to take him through "The Good Person Test." Victor was very concerned that he has sinned against God and understood that Jesus would pay for his sins and adopt him as a child of God if he repents and believes the gospel.

Using a survey like "The Good Person Test" is a great way to communicate Biblical truths. Brett is on the left in grey. He appeared open while I brought him through the survey. I didn't get his friend's name, but he was more hostile. He claimed to be from a Christian family and didn't care about the gospel. Please pray that God will save both of these young men.

Please PRAY for Joshua (on the left of the photo). He is one of THE MOST HOSTILE people I have ever encountered. He was part of the fiasco last year where I almost got arrested. He came right up to our team at Boston University and started arguing VERY AGGRESSIVELY. In this photo, my friend Ray is attempting to reason with him.

This is Max. He came up to me, laughed, and said "God keeps putting people like you in my path because He's trying to get my attention." He told me that he was running from God, like Jonah. Wow! Max is a thoughtful young man who believes in his head about Jesus, but is having trouble following Him as Lord. He gladly gave me his email address and told me he wanted me to contact him to encourage him in the Lord. Please pray for him. Thanks!!!

This is Annie, a graduate student I met at Boston University. Annie told me that she grew up in a Christian home, but abandoned her faith at age 10. I took her through the "Good Person Test" to show that none of us are good. Still, Annie said she is good and doesn't deserve punishment. Annie and I spoke for about 30 minutes. She told me that she was adopted, and she was really excited that I have an adopted daughter! She gave me her email address and I already emailed her. I'd appreciate your prayers for her salvation!

This is cool! Ray gave a gospel tract to Nicole, a Boston University student. Then he got into a fruitful witnessing conversation with her. Here's the interesting part: It turns out that Nicole injured her knee as a kid, and what tract did Ray "happen" to give her that prompted the discussion? A tract called "The Amazing Human Body." God used that to connect these two to talk about Jesus! I love it when stuff like this happens!!!

"Is this true for Jews too?" That's what Nicole, a student at Boston University, asked me as I was explaining that Jesus died for sinners and rose from the dead. (Nicole is right in front of me in this photo). I asked her is she was Jewish, and Nicole said yes. So I got to share my testimony on how God saved me, a Jewish student 21 years ago. And I shared that Jesus is Jewish and the New Testament was written by Jewish people. I gave her my testimony in written form, called "A Jew and His God" and she thanked me. I believe she went from hostile to open pretty quickly. Please keep Nicole, and the many others God sends our way in your prayers. I love Divine Appointments!!!

We're seeing the Muslim population increase in Boston. But that just means that God is sending the Mission Field to us! Here, Eric is sharing Christ with a Muslim woman. He gave her a copy of "The Gospel of Luke" in Arabic. Sadly, she looked it over and handed it back to him. Please pray that God waters that seed and we'll see many turn away from Islam and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ!

Please keep the students we met at colleges in your prayers, that God will save them.

I’m already looking forward to going back to campuses to minister, Lord willing, in the Spring!

Thank you for your prayers, notes of encouragement, and financial support. Without all of those, we could not be reaching the lost for Jesus Christ!

Please feel free to share this with others you think would be encouraged by it, and who will pray!
